Dartmouth Skating Club ran the summer skating program in July and August out of the Centennial Arena in Halifax. Skaters are given the opportunity to continue training throughout the summer months as well as complete off-ice conditioning, prepare for summer test days and some even traveled to Ontario for a competition.
The skaters also have lots of fun at the summer sessions and it is not uncommon to see the arena filled with skaters in neon or Halloween costumes while they enjoy some ice cream.
The skaters also got together to wish Alana all the best as she heads off to university. Alana has been skating with the Dartmouth Skating Club for many years and has also volunteered as a Program Assistant in the CanSkate program. Even though she won’t be skating regularly in Dartmouth I am sure we will still see her around the rinks. Good luck Alana!
