The winner of our recent 50/50 Draw in support of the Noralta Skating Club in Fort McMurray was CARA RHYNO. Congratulations Cara!
As a skating club, DSC wanted to reach out to the Noralta Skating Club located in Fort McMurray, its skaters and families during this difficult time. The DSC Board forwarded an e-mail to the Noralta Skating Club advising a 50/50 draw was held in recognition of the devastation of the wildfires and Noralta’s resolve to rebuild. DSC is sending Noralta a cheque in the amount of $123.05. Albeit a small amount, it is DSC’s way of hopefully letting Noralta know that as a Club we have been thinking about them; and the money raised could be used to toward rebuilding their club or helping a Noralta skater and family who has been displaced.
The DSC Board recently received a note back via e-mail from Noralta’s Club Manager and Assistant Director, Tania Murowchuk. The Board would like to share a little bit of what Ms. Murowchuk wrote back in an e-mail to DSC:
