Dartmouth Skating Club ran the summer skating program in July and August out of the Centennial Arena in Halifax. Skaters are given the opportunity to continue training throughout the summer months as well as complete off-ice conditioning, prepare for summer test days and some even traveled to Ontario for a competition.
The skaters also have lots of fun at the summer sessions and it is not uncommon to see the arena filled with skaters in neon or Halloween costumes while they enjoy some ice cream.

The winner of the DSC lottery for the 10 seats in the Skybox at the Scotiabank Centre for the “Stars on Ice” show held on April 29th was Michael C. The Skybox was donated to the DSC by the Royal Bank of Canada.

Lindt has requested that Dartmouth Skating Club present our members with a very exciting opportunity to volunteer for Halifax Lindt/Stars On Ice on April 29 at Scotiabank Center.
Volunteers receive free admission to the show and will be helping to distribute Lindt chocolates to people attending during intermission.

The Dartmouth Skating Club sent 9 skaters to a competition called Skatefest on Saturday, March 12th, 2016 at St. Margaret’s Arena in Tantallon. The skaters received silver and gold status after performing various elements they are working on from the CanSkate program. Some skaters performed their solo and participated in a speed event.

Stephie Walmsley, a long-time member of the Dartmouth Skating Club, has qualified for the 2016 Canadian Tire National Skating Championships to be held in Halifax, NS on 18-24th January.
